A long time ago, before most of us were born, a young lady called Kate Sprocket-Batch inherited a very grand house by the name of Havers Hall from her recently deceased stepfather. Kate's mother went mad with grief and left Kate to run the house alone. Kate decided to throw a great weekend party, and invited a guest-list of extraordinary friends. On a balmy summer night, they all arrived, full of life and merriment. But none of them ever left. For reasons that were never fully explained, one by one, the house guests met various strange ends, some dying by apparent accidents, some by apparent design, until only two of them, Kate and her best friend Freddie are left, awaiting their inevitable doom. Horrible Happenings is a horror-musical with humour which will tickle funny bones, send shivers down spines and creep into dreams. Participants will be given plenty of rope to create strange and twisted characters, singing songs of gory glee and tear-jerking pathos. Inspired by the cartoons of Edward Gorey, the story of Shock-Headed Peter and the films of Tim Burton, the show will be a feast of devilish drama and mouth-watering music.
