VoiceWorks: a training course for leaders of music theatre for young people
Youth Music Theatre: UK and RSAMD YouthWorks Drama have developed a specialist four-day course that aims to support the vocal training requirements of teachers, coaches and leaders involved with young people in music theatre.
So whether you are a school teacher, a leader of a youth group, work with an amateur theatre company or in a community setting this course will have all the answers to training young people in an inspiring, enjoyable and safe way.
Course components range from the physiology of the voice, breathing and teaching techniques to singing in performance and vocal function. There will be plenty of opportunity to consider the theory as well as explore the creative voice in practice. The culmination of the four-day learning experience will be a music theatre masterclass.
VoiceWorks is led by Lin Marsh and Christopher Breckenridge, both eminent practitioners in this specialised field.
The next set of four full-day workshops will take place in the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow on Friday 24 and Saturday 25 October, and Sunday 9 and Monday 10 November.. The cost for the full four-day course is £250.
There are just 12 places available.
