Development Officer - Trusts and Foundations
We are looking for an enthusiastic, confident and skilled fundraiser to join our Development Department, holding a responsibility for Trusts and Foundations fundraising and liaison.
Responsibilities of the role include:
- To create funding proposals and reports as directed by the Head of Development
- To be familiar with the YMT’s activities in order to attract actual and potential donors
- To research new trust prospects as and when necessary and work towards agreed upon new funding targets
- To take the lead on a range of events in order to thank and/or cultivate trust and foundation contacts and other supporters
- To provide support for Development Committee meetings in particular to minute, arrange papers, and arrange catering for meetings
- To maintain detailed and accurate computer database and paper records to ensure actions are recorded and followed up
- To manage the YMT Buddy Scheme and supervise volunteers associated with scheme
- To carry out any other duties as directed by the Head of Development
- To attend and assist at Company events as required
Person specification:
- Demonstrable verbal and written communication skills with the ability to deal calmly, confidently and positively with people at all levels internally and externally, both face to face and over the telephone.
- Accuracy and attention to detail when working with words and numbers.
- The ability to prioritise tasks and work to deadlines.
- A flexible approach to work in order to manage numerous projects.
- Proven administration and organisational ability.
- An ability to work well as part of a team
- A high level of computer literacy and competency on all Microsoft packages
- Experience of working with databases.
- Excellent customer service skills to effectively and efficiently meet and exceed donor expectations.
- Flexibility to work evening and, once or twice a year, weekend events as required
- Previous administration experience desirable
- Knowledge of fundraising desirable but not essential
- An interest in theatre and the arts
- Initiative with the ability to be proactive and professional in all aspects of the role
