Anthoula’s most recent choreography is for SWEENEY TODD in Karlstad, Sweden. Also in the last year she has choreographed GUYS AND DOLLS IN Gothenburg, EVITA in Germany, A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC and another SWEENEY TODD. For YMT:UK she was movement director on LES MISERABLES.
She is actively involved in youth theatre and is artistically responsible for the Choreography for MT4Uth. In her work there and in England she has choreographed many of the best known musicals, among them JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR twice, FIDDLER ON THE ROOF, MY FAIR LADY, WEST SIDE STORY twice, BUGSY MALONE twice, THE LATE SLEEPERS, OLIVER, THE LATE SLEEPERS AND COPACABANA.
In various European cities she has choreographed many musicals and operas in major theatres. These include three productions of LES MISERABLES, two of MISS SAIGON, MARTIN GUERRE, LA BOHEME, WEST SIDE STORY, NINE, ANDREA CHENIER ( also for television ), MANON LESCAUT, A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC, THE PEARL FISHERS ( on its third European tour ), HANSEL AND GRETEL three times, and OUR FRIENDS IN THE NORTH, the BAFTA award-winning BBC series.
As a dancer she trained at the LONDON CONTEMPORARY DANCE SCHOOL and ARTS EDUCATIONAL SCHOOLS. She spent ten years dancing with the opera ballet at the ROYAL OPERA HOUSE, COVENT GARDEN, dancing in such productions as ATTILA, TURANDOT, ORFEO ED EURIDICE, LES HUGENOTS, RIGOLETTO, LA TRAVIATA, and SAMSON ET DALILA.
Prior to choreography she had an active career in television and modelling. TV work included appearances in THE GREEN MAN, THE SECRET AGENT, THE CLOTHES SHOW, PRIDE AND PREJUDICE, DEMOB, HEAD OVER HEELS, and HALE AND PACE.
Modelling work and commercials included La Herome which won the best of British Advertising for the Association of Photographers, ‘Vera Cuoio’ with Tony McGee, Leichner, British Rail, All Beauty (cover) – Japan, Boots, Palmolive, Colgate, Nestles, Cleopatra soap, Shield Soap, American Express, Windsmoor, Lotus, Clarkes, Dash Leisurewear, Marks and Spencer,Ugena, Pineapple, Top Shop, Aquascutum, Guy Laroche, Wella, L’Oreal, And Bally of Switzerland. |
