For YMT: UK he has directed MANIFEST at the V&A Museum and extracts from OH! WHAT A LOVELY WAR for the original Let It Snow.  He has assisted on various YMT: UK productions including THE LAST TANGO, RED HUNTER and AMY'S WEDDING, as well as the first Tonbridge Wells Studio.

Aside from YMT: UK, Joe has directed ONE FOR THE ROAD and FANTASY FOOTBALL (BAC), 5+1 (24/7 Theatre Festival), FACE TO THE WALL, ORIGINAL CATHOLIC DOUBT, A CHRISTMAS CAROL (Rose Bruford College) and MURDER IN THE CATHEDRAL (St Aidans's, Manchester.)

He has assisted Alan Ayckbourn (ORVIN), Annie Castledine and Ramin Gray (SCENES FROM THE BACK OF BEYOND), Roger Haines (TOM'S MIDNIGHT GARDEN) and Steve Ventura (MAN EQUALS MAN).

At Rose Bruford, he was given the chance to experiment with the unique Actor-Musician course they offer.  As a result he is committed to actor-musicianship in music theatre to create a more inclusive, honest experience.

Joe is currently working as an Assistant Director at the Royal Court and wants to continue assisting Directors he admires for a few years yet – in addition to his own work – to further his craft.

Joe works part-time as a workshop facilitator and drama teacher.

He lists his influences as Bill Hicks, Theatr Piesn Kozla, Annie Castledine, Joy Division, Quarantine Theatre, Saul Williams, Maly Theatre of St Petersburg, Bert and the good people of the 911 Truth Commission.
